Dakota Hendrickson continued his annual improvement in 410 Sprint Car Points in the Lucas Oil Knoxville Cup Series in 2017 with his highest point finish yet. He finished 12th this past season after registering two seasons of 13th in the standings.
Dakota said, "I'm really proud of the fact that we keep improving each year. Knoxville Raceway is the toughest weekly track in the country. Many of the top ten teams can, have, and do run in the top 5 regularly when running against World of Outlaws teams and racing with these guys each week is definitely a challenge. But to be the best you have to beat the best and no place can prepare you better than Knoxville."
"It is so tough to race with so many veterans who have so much experience. Many of these guys have been racing 410 Sprint Cars and winning races for longer than I have been alive! That's not an excuse, it is just putting the challenge into perspective" Dakota stated. "But, I like the challenge, so we'll be back this season. Jay and Jon Hughes have been working really hard to improve on every aspect of our program. I can't wait for the season to get started."
Dakota is continuing his education as a Finance and Entrepreneurship double major at Creighton University's Heider College of Business. He's a perennial Dean's List student and on track to graduate in three and a half years. He hopes to finish in December of this year and race next winter in Australia.
